Narrative Collapse is a video art project based on the video archives of the Ukraine-Russia war. The work is composed of videos about the war found on social media, the internet, and the dark web, attempting to exist as a multi-faceted record of the war. The sound layer is created by mixing national anthems from Ukraine, Russia, Korea, and the United States with found sounds collected from the internet.
The artist aims to question existing ideologies through their work. War is a confrontation between two powerful ideologies, and this is the most powerful and violent form of propaganda that seeks to dichotomize an individual's beliefs. Unlike the dichotomous opposition of war, modern wars show a multi-faceted narrative influenced by the internet and social media. This is different from the past, where war information was only handled by centralized media such as TV or radio.
